PSG score four in 16 minutes, a Champions League record, on the way to a 6-0 rout of Villarreal

Paris Saint-Germain scored four goals in 16 minutes and two seconds, the fastest four-goal start in Champions League history, on the way to a 6-0 win at Villarreal. João Neves, Désiré Doué, Senny Mayulu, Fabián Ruiz twice and David Boly all scored.

Villarreal, Spain: Villarreal had barely settled into their own stadium when PSG began taking it apart. By the 17th minute the Champions League league-phase tie was over, and the record books had been rewritten.

Four goals, four scorers

João Neves opened the scoring in the ninth minute, reacting first to a loose ball after a corner. Doué made it 2-0 in the 12th, finishing from the centre of the box after a pass from Maghnes Akliouche. Mayulu added a third a minute later as the home defence came apart. Ruiz completed the blitz with a left-footed finish that the official record places in the 17th minute; the clock stood at 16 minutes and two seconds. Akliouche was credited with the assist.

The four goals came from four different players. The previous benchmark was Real Madrid’s four goals by the 20th minute against Dinamo Zagreb in November 2011, a match Madrid won 6-2 at home. PSG did it away.

Second-half polish

With the contest settled, PSG slowed down but did not stop. Ruiz scored his second of the night in the 50th minute, and Boly completed the scoring in the 78th. Villarreal conceded nothing more after the opening burst, but they had little left to offer going forward.

PSG achieved the result without several regulars. Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes were out with thigh injuries, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia remains sidelined with a knee injury.

The table

PSG have 12 points from four matches, with four wins and 20 goals scored, and top the league-phase standings after Tuesday’s games. It follows the form shown in Achraf Hakimi’s hat-trick against Le Havre last weekend. Villarreal have three points from four games and have conceded 14 goals, a goal difference of minus six. Twelve points do not guarantee a top-eight finish, and four rounds remain.

Result: Villarreal 0, Paris Saint-Germain 6 (UEFA Champions League, league phase, Matchday 4, Estadio de la Cerámica, November 3, 2026). PSG scorers: Neves 9′, Doué 12′, Mayulu 13′, Ruiz 17′, Ruiz 50′, Boly 78′.
