Ollie Robinson took 4 for 11 from 13 overs and Jofra Archer 3 for 26 as England bowled Pakistan out for 110 at Lord’s, a first-innings lead of 180. Thirteen wickets fell on the second day. England closed on 81 for 3 in their second innings, 261 ahead, with Emilio Gay unbeaten on 30 and Harry Brook on 7. Pakistan batted a man short after Imam-ul-Haq tore a calf muscle fielding.
London, England: Azan Awais made 46. The next highest entry on Pakistan’s scorecard was 20 extras.
Nobody else passed 16. Pakistan were dismissed for 110 in 37.2 overs, and they were effectively nine down throughout — Imam-ul-Haq unable to bat after sustaining a low-grade tear to his left calf while fielding on the opening day.
Robinson’s Six Maidens
Ollie Robinson bowled 13 overs, six of them maidens, and conceded 11 runs. He took four wickets.
That was the metronome. At the other end Jofra Archer supplied the hostility, regularly hitting 92mph and touching 94mph, and finished with 3 for 26 from 11.2 overs. Josh Tongue took two. Gus Atkinson, luckless, went wicketless.
Archer struck first, Shan Masood — opening in place of Imam — edging behind to a full ball at 91mph. Babar Azam, back from the finger injury that kept him out at Headingley, came in after lunch, drove two boundaries through the covers and edged Tongue to third slip.

Saud Shakeel made 16 from 16 before Robinson pinned him on the back leg. After a 30-minute rain delay, Robinson had Mohammad Rizwan lbw too, and from there the innings disintegrated: Ali Usman played Archer onto his stumps, Khurram Shahzad edged Robinson to second slip, and Awais finally fell top-edging a pull to the boundary with the score 106 for 8.
Archer bowled Mohammad Abbas to finish it, having earlier been denied Mohammad Ali when Joe Root put down a chance at leg slip.
Atkinson and Tongue Set It Up
Resuming on 248 for 9 after bad light had ended the opening day, Atkinson and Tongue batted for nearly an hour and added 47 for the last wicket. Atkinson made 45 from 46 balls before driving Ali Usman to long-off; Tongue finished unbeaten on 30 from 48.
It took England to 290 and well past what would have been considered a par score on day one. Mohammad Abbas took 4 for 73.
Gay Holds Firm in the Evening
England lost three wickets in their second innings but never lost control of it. Emilio Gay was unbeaten on 30 at the close, with Brook on 7, after Khurram Shahzad took two of the three.
Bad light stopped play just before 6.45pm for the second evening running, with England 81 for 3 and 261 in front.
They lead the three-match series 1-0 after winning by an innings and 103 runs at Headingley.
