Achraf Hakimi scored his first career hat-trick and set up two more goals as Paris Saint-Germain came from behind to beat bottom-club Le Havre 5-1 at the Stade Océane, keeping PSG top of Ligue 1 after Josh Maja had given the hosts an early lead.
Le Havre, France: For 26 minutes on Friday evening, Le Havre led the league leaders. Then Hakimi took over. The right-back was involved in all five Paris goals, scoring three and creating two, as PSG turned a 1-0 deficit into a 5-1 win on Ligue 1 Matchday 9.
Maja strikes on the break
Le Havre went ahead in the 18th minute with a fast counter-attack. Rayan Fofana ran down the flank and delivered a cross to the far post, where Maja finished to make it 1-0. The bottom club had the lead, and the Stade Océane had a reason to dream.
Hakimi turns it round
The answer came inside 10 minutes. In the 26th minute Hakimi redirected a long ball from Lucas Hernández into the path of Mika Godts, who scored to make it 1-1. Two minutes later, Senny Mayulu found Hakimi, who ran into the right side of the box and beat goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart at the near post for 2-1.
It was the first of three. Early in the second half, in the 55th minute, Hakimi curled in a direct free-kick to make it 3-1.
Mayulu and Hakimi finish it
In the 62nd minute Hakimi slid a through ball for Mayulu, who scored after Bodart rushed far off his line. Seven minutes later it was the right-back again. Godts worked the move down the left, and Hakimi beat the goalkeeper at the second attempt in the 69th minute to complete his hat-trick and make it 5-1. It was the first hat-trick of his career, and he added two assists, to Godts and Mayulu.
The result keeps PSG at the top of the table and leaves Le Havre bottom. It follows Monday’s 2-0 win over Lyon, when substitutes Mayulu and Godts scored to send Luis Enrique’s side top, and the same two players were on the scoresheet again here.
