Zabarnyi’s header gives PSG a 1-0 win over Troyes as Paris go into the international break on top

Illia Zabarnyi’s first-half header was enough for Paris Saint-Germain to beat Troyes 1-0 at the Parc des Princes, restoring a three-point lead over Paris FC at the top of Ligue 1 before the international break, despite a wasteful display in front of goal.

Paris, France: PSG had the better of almost everything on Saturday night except the scoreline. One set-piece header settled it, and the margin stayed that narrow only because Troyes goalkeeper Hillel Konaté kept making saves and PSG kept missing chances.

A short corner, a cross, a header

The goal came late in the first half from a short corner. PSG took a corner short, Désiré Doué worked it to Senny Mayulu, and Mayulu swung a cross to the far post. Zabarnyi met it with a header and nodded it back across goal and in. It was his second Ligue 1 goal of the season.

Earlier, Konaté had tipped a Mayulu strike onto the crossbar, and Ferran Torres missed two chances before the break.

Chances missed, a goal ruled out

PSG could not add a second. Torres missed another chance late on, and Troyes, still looking for a way into the game, had their moment about seven minutes from time. Lucas Maronnier put the ball in the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Renaud Ripart also sent a shot wide for Troyes after half-time.

At the other end, goalkeeper Matvey Safonov made key saves to protect the lead.

Top at the break

The win restored PSG’s three-point lead over Paris FC, who beat Auxerre 1-0 earlier on Saturday. PSG are on 23 points, Paris FC on 20, and Troyes sit 16th of 18. PSG had come off a 6-0 win at Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday. Their next league game is at Nice on 21 November.

Result: Paris Saint-Germain 1, Troyes 0 (Ligue 1, Matchweek 10, Parc des Princes, 7 November 2026). PSG scorer: Zabarnyi (late first half).
